Operational issue - AWS Internet Connectivity (Ohio)
[RESOLVED] Increased network latency between the US-EAST-1 and US-EAST-2 Regions
Jun 11 7:41 AM PDT Between 5:30 AM and 6:45 AM PDT, we experienced increased latency and intermittent packet loss between the US-EAST-1 and US-EAST-2 Regions. Our automated traffic redistribution systems moved traffic to minimize impact, though some customers with applications that relied on cross-region traffic between these Regions may have experienced intermittent packet loss during this period. Traffic within these Regions and all other cross-region paths remained unaffected. The packet loss issue has been resolved and latency has stabilized, but may still be elevated until we restore the lower latency networking paths. The service is operating normally.
Jun 11 7:17 AM PDT We continue to investigate increased network latency and low levels of packet loss between the US-EAST-1 and US-EAST-2 Regions. This impact is affecting cross-region traffic between these Regions. Customers with applications that rely on cross-region communication between US-EAST-1 and US-EAST-2 will experience increased latency. Our initial mitigation efforts have completed successfully and reduced these packet loss levels. Customers will see packet loss levels recover but will continue to see increased latency while we work towards full resolution. We will provide further updates by 8:30 AM PDT.
Jun 11 6:55 AM PDT We are investigating increased network latency between the US-EAST-1 and US-EAST-2 Regions. We have identified the scope of impact and are actively working to restore normal network performance. We will provide further updates by 7:45 AM PDT.
