Amazon Kendra

Pay-as-you-go pricing

With Amazon Kendra Intelligent Ranking, there are no upfront costs. Once you provision query capacity units, you’re charged by the hour from the time the capacity units are provisioned until they are removed. Partial capacity unit instance-hours are billed in one-second increments.

Scaling

To start using Amazon Kendra Intelligent Ranking, you provision the “base capacity unit,” which you can use to support up to 1,000 rescored queries per day. You can easily scale up and down by adding capacity units to support more queries per day, in increments of 1,000 queries per day.

Free tier

You can get started for free with Amazon Kendra Intelligent Ranking. The AWS Free Tier provides free usage of up to 750 hours for the first 30 days for base capacity customers (1 capacity unit). If you exceed the free tier usage limits, you’ll be charged the Amazon Kendra Intelligent Ranking rates for the additional resources you use.

Discounted pricing

Discounted pricing is available for customers who are willing to make certain minimum volume commits. Contact us for details.

Example 1 (base capacity):

You have an existing search application managing around 800 searches per day. Therefore, you must provision only the base capacity (1 unit = 1,000 queries per day) for Amazon Kendra Intelligent Ranking to cover your daily query load. Your monthly cost will be calculated as:
