Amazon EC2 C8gd instances are compute-optimized instances powered by AWS Graviton4 processors and include local NVMe-based SSDs that are physically connected to the host server. They have up to 40% higher performance for I/O intensive database workloads, and up to 20% faster query results for I/O intensive real-time data analytics than comparable AWS Graviton3-based instances.
Ideal use cases: Compute-intensive workloads that need access to high-speed, low latency local storage, such as high performance computing (HPC), batch processing, electronic design automation (EDA), gaming, video encoding, scientific modeling, distributed analytics, CPU-based machine learning (ML) inference, and ad-serving.
Key technology:
- Powered by custom-built AWS Graviton4 processors
- Up to 192 vCPUs and up to 384 GiB of memory
- Up to 50 Gbps network bandwidth and up to 40 Gbps Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) bandwidth
- Up to 11.4 TB NVMe SSD instance storage
